[Intro]
Fmaj7 G13 G7 Gm7 C9 Fmaj7 F#13
[verse 1]

Tall and tan and young and lovely,
G13 G7
the girl from Impanema goes walking and
Gm7 C9 Fmaj7 F#13
when she passes each one she passes, goes "Ahh".
Fmaj7
When she walks she's like a samba that
G13 G7
swings so cool & sways so gentle that
Gm7 C9 Fmaj7
when she passes, each one she passes goes, "Ahh!!".
F#maj7 F#m7 B11 B9
Oh, but I watch her so sadly
Amaj7 Am7 D11 D9
How...........can I tell her I love her?
Bbmaj7 Bbm7 Eb11 Eb9
Yes..... I would give my heart gladly,
Am7 D7-9
but each day when she walks to the sea,
Gm7 C7-9
she looks straight ahead, not at me
[verse 2]

When she walks she's like a samba that

when she passes, each one she passes goes, "Ahh!!".

aatvza: relative to other versions posted on UG, I appreciate the modifications you made to the verses. But having listened to Tom Jobim's music since it came out, I'm not getting my "ear" around the progression in the chorus (i.e, it's not what I'm expecting to hear), and those chords are the ones called out differently than most other versions. This is the part I'm talking about:
Ebm9 B9
Oh, but I watch her so sadly
F#m9 D9
How...........can I tell her I love her?
Gm9 Eb9
Yes..... I would give my heart gladly,
[The rest of the chorus matches up with what I've played many, many times.]
I'm wondering if you're using open chording or have a different scheme from the 'auto-shapes' supplied by the UG programming? So, do you agree with the shapes supplied by UG? If not, could you share your own?
