The rhythm is difficult to get from the tab... if you practice the bassline
separately to the high part, you'll see they each follow their own rhythm,
which is consistent throughout all the sections of the song. The fingerpicking
pattern is mostly consistent through the whole song as well, using the thumb
on the bass notes (strings 4-6), index on 3rd, and middle finger on 1-2.

Indeed, thank you a lot!!! I've also been waiting for this tab. I've only got a small comment about the tuning. Myself, I use Tuning: E A D A B E Capo on 2nd fret I also found this video of José playing the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tMWFoZlA3Y

Yeah, I know it's possible to play with the EADABE tuning as you mention jamminjohn (although I think the capo should actually be on 1 in that case?). But you are likely to break a string that way, depending on the gauge of string you use. Most people use heavier strings on acoustics. I think in the video he might actually be tuned to D#G#... etc. It's up to you, I use a steel string and tuning a string up a whole tone never ends well. Nylons are probably more forgiving.
