Above The Clouds Of Pompeii - Bear's Den

I tabbed this song off of the music video in a way so that it can be played on one guitar (acoustic)
rather than 2 guitars(bass?) which I think they use in the original song.
And I didn't fully tab the steel guitars(?). (Though the bridge is the same or similar as the other bits.)
Since the original is for more instruments, I would recommend to play chords later on to help
build up your dynamic.

Listen closely to the song, start slow and good luck. :)

Tuning: Standard
Capo on 4

These chords are basically played through out the whole song. (Relative to the capo.)
  C Dm Am F

E|------------------------|------------------------|------------------------|--1---------------------|

Intro/Pre-Chorus/Chorus
(The first 1 in the 2nd and 4th bar are optional, I think it sounds better with them.)
  C Dm Am
e|----------0-------------|----------0-------------|----------0-------------|

B|1-----1h3------3-----1--|
G|---0-----0--------------|
D|3-----3-----3-----3-----|
A|------------------------|
E|------------------------|

I see the 3 open strings in the 3rd bar like a roll, a roll with your hand if you get what I mean.

Verse 1
(Play the first 1 from the 1st bar only the first round.)
  C Am Dm
e|-----------0-----------0|-----------0-----------0|------------0----------0|

e|-----------0-----------0| The second round it ends like this: e|-----------0------------|
B|-----1-----------1------| B|-----1-----------1h3-1--|
G|----0-----0-----0-----0-| 2x G|----0-----0-----0-------|

E|------------------------| E|------------------------|

Put the accent on the high notes, play the bass notes softly.
I see this like a gallop (like from a horse).

Intro (For the (1st) steel guitar bit see the first part of the bridge.)

Verse 2

Second round ends like this time like this:

D|3-----3-----3-----3-----|
A|------------------------|
E|------------------------|

                                                         (2nd steel guitar bit)
Chorus (=2x Intro, could use chords) e|------------------------|
                                                         B|------1-----1-----1-----|

                                                         D|------------------------|
Verse 3 (Second round ends like the first round) A|------------------------|
                                                         E|------------------------|

E|------------------------|------------------------|------------------------|------------------------|

If you play the strings near the bridge (bottom of the guitar) with your nails or a pick, you can create
a more 'harsh' sound that's similar to the steel guitar's sound.
You can imitate the bass drum with your foot, or by trying to slap with your thumb.
You can use a pick starting from the bridge if you like.

I like to start strumming the F from the last bar of the bridge and then continue into the chorus.

The chords (to remind you again)
(I didn't put the strumming pattern down, listen to the song and find the rhythm you think fits best.)
  C Dm Am F
e|--0---------------------|--0---------------------|--0---------------------|--x---------------------|
B|--1---------------------|--1---------------------|--1---------------------|--1---------------------|
G|--0---------------------|--2---------------------|--0---------------------|--0---------------------|
D|--2---------------------|--0---------------------|--2---------------------|--3---------------------|
A|--3---------------------|-(0)--------------------|--0---------------------|--3---------------------|
E|------------------------|------------------------|------------------------|--1---------------------|

Chorus (Chords recommended, for the dynamic)

Chorus (Chords recommended)

Outro (=Chorus, chords recommended)

I suppose you can imitate the brass section with your voice here. ;p (I like to do that. haha)
I also like to play the outro twice, since it feels more natural that way. (Because you can't do
the brass section and sing the lyrics in the final chorus.)

End on a C.
