[Verse]
   G C G
My grandpa gave me a wheat penny and I kept it in my pocket
G D
I had big plans in my back yard to build me a space rocket
  G C G
I talked to my brother on a fake CB that I made from a tic-tac box
  G D G
I packed my snowballs nice and tight and in the middle I put rocks

[Pre-Chorus]
C G
Don’t trade in your tic-tac box for a ball on the end of a chain
G D D
Don’t go spending Grandpa’s pennies buying into the game

[Chorus]
          C G
You gotta keep your heart young
D Em
Don’t go growin old before your time has come
               C G
You can’t take back what you have done
             D G
You’ve gotta keep your heart young

[Verse]
    G C G
Dad took the wheels off of my bike and he pushed me down the hill
G D
But speed got the best of me and I took my first spill
G C G
That was back when alcohol was only used on cuts
   G D G
It stung like hell so I jerked my leg and momma said it’d give me guts

[Pre-Chorus]
C G
Don’t trade in your tic-tac box for a ball on the end of a chain
G D
Don’t go spending Grandpa’s pennies buying into the game

[Chorus]
          C G
You gotta keep your heart young
D Em
Don’t go growin old before your time has come
               C G
You can’t take back what you have done
             D G
You’ve gotta keep your heart young

[Verse]
   G C G
So take a picture of the one you love and put it in a locket
G D
Go dig up your time capsule and the blueprints for your rocket
G C G
Keep in touch on a fake CB, that same old tic-tac box
G D G
Pack your snowballs a little less tight but in the middle - still put rocks

[Chorus]
    C G
And keep your heart young
D Em
Don’t go growin old before your time has come
               C G
You can’t take back what you have done
             D G
You’ve gotta keep your heart young

[Outro]
          C G
You gotta keep your heart young
    D
Sometimes you don’t die quick
     Em
Just like you wished you’d done
       C G
Though love is a loaded gun
             D G
You’ve gotta keep your heart young
               C G C
You can’t take back what you have done is done
             D G Am G
You’ve gotta keep your heart young

I'm drunk...so I might have made a mistake in reading your comment...but your b/g sounds like an em7....

I'm pretty sure your B/G should be an Em

To anyone reading this, the B/G definitely should be an Em. The tabber has implied that they are virtually the same, but they are not. Another commenter suggested that an Em7 would work, and I concur. FWIW, I'm positive that the original tabber meant G/B (X20003) which does resemble Em (022000), but they are absolutely not the same chord... Fendvillag59 tries to justify it by explaining that they play G like this (320033) and the misnamed B/G probably like this (X20033)... B/G would be a B major chord with a G in the bass (324442), not the other way around... Also, it sounds like they play their G the way I play mine (320033) and probably "my C" as well(X32033). If you want to try "my Em" do this: (022033). It's like an Em7 with a high 7th (D on 3rd fret of the 2nd string) and a high G on the first string. I think it sounds great! Thanks Fendvillag59 for taking the time to tab this! I hope you'll accept my suggestions and make the changes to make this the BEST version possible!
