[Verse 1]
(Am) Em D C Am
I had a way then losing it all on my own
         Em D C Am
I had a heart then but the queen has been overthrown
        Em D C Am
And I'm not sleeping now the dark is too hard to beat
        Em D C Am
And I'm not keeping now the strength I need to push me

[Chorus]
    Em D
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
     C Am
You shine It when I'm alone
            Em D
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
    C Am
And dreaming when they're gone
               Em D
'Cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
C Am
Calling, calling, calling home
             Em D
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
    C Am
You shine It when I'm alone

[Verse 2]
Em D C Am
Noises, I play within my head
         Em D C Am
Touch my own skin and hope that I'm still breathing
    Em D C Am
And I think back to when my brother and my sister slept
Em D C Am
in an unlocked place the only time I feel safe

[Chorus]
           Em D
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
    C Am
You shine It when I'm alone
         Em D
And so I tell myself that I'll be strong
    C Am
And dreaming when they're gone
               Em D
'Cause they're calling, calling, calling me home
  C Am
Calling, calling, calling home
             Em D
You show the lights that stop me turn to stone

if you want easier vocals drop the key down -2, plus the guitar sounds really pretty

These chords are impeccable. Thank you so, so much for allowing me to do this cover! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuCltnybu10&feature=plcp

For those of you who are interested in a harder version involving 2 guitarists, Here's my guitar cover of the version where it is fingerpicked by 2 guitarists live with Ellie Goulding! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh0voNIvMgY both parts from the funky intro included but played separately the funky intro is played by the two guitarists fingerpicking. The verse is played by one person plucking the higher pitched chords with a capo on the 4th fret, and the other doing a combination of strumming the deeper notes (rhythm) and fingerpicking. The fingerpicking intro revolves around these 4 chords: G#m {x 11 13 13 12 11}, F# {x 9 11 11 11 9}, E {x 7 9 9 9 x}, and then finally, C#m7 {9 x 9 9 9 x}. You can choose to just mute the B string on E and C#m7 if you want (that's how I play it). For the verse: 1st guitarist: capo on 4th fret, playing Em (022000), D (xx0232), C (x32010) then Am7 (x02010) 2nd guitarist: no capo, playing G#m (46644), F#(244322), E (022100), and then C#m (x46654) All is in Standard Tuning (EADGBE). There's a different set of chords played towards the end when she's doing some sort of outro-style singing (repeating lights and gibberish), but I don't remember which chords they are. I'll get back to this later on haha.
