Tuning: Something like a quarter step down from standard A=440 on the Maggot
Brain album recording, but essentially tuned standard.
This is the main riff of the song.
G|----------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--------2-4/5-2----2-------------------2-4/5--7---5-------------|
A|---2-4----------4-----------------2-4--------7-----7------------|
E|----------------------0--3--0------------------------0--3--0----|

D|-----2-4/5----2-4/5----2-4/5-2-----2-------------|
A|-2-4------2-4-------2-4---------4----------------|
E|--------------------------------------0--3--0----|
There are also two short "bridge" sections. After each chord section, play
half of the main riff, leaving off the repeated ascending bit at the end.
In other words, just play the first two "licks" of the main riff.
Chorus A:
A - B - G -> half the verse
Chorus B:
B - D - A -> half the verse
The structure of the song is as follows:
Main riff x 2 quietly
Main riff x 3 loudly
Chorus A
Chorus B
Chorus B
Organ Solo (first two licks of the main riff repeated underneath)
Chorus A
Chorus A
Main Riff x 1 including the repeated ascending bit
Guitar Solo Outro (first two licks of the main riff repeated)

Tuning E standard. A=432

In the organ solo, the first two licks are repeated yes, but reversed. Also the outro is the entire main riff repeated, not just the first two licks.

Why does none of funkadelic’s music have official tabs. But this riff is fun asf to play on bass
