Glen Hansard - High Hope
========================
[Verse 1]
C/G F G
I'm working on a high hope
C/G F G
And if it all works out you might
Am G F
just see me or hear from me in a while
C/G F G
I'm gonna make it 'cross this tight rope
C/G F G
And I'm coming for my prize no more
Am G F
I'll be waiting 'round while life just passes by
[Chorus]
G F
Maybe when our hearts have realigned
G F C/G
Maybe when we've both had some time I'm gonna see you there
C G Am G F
I'm gonna see you there. Layyyyyyyyyyyyyy
C G Am G F
I'm gonna see you there. Layyyyyyyyyyyyyy
[Verse 2]
C/G F G
'Cause I've been living in a half-life
C/G F G
Not sure which way to turn. Why must a man
Am G F
lose everything to find out what he wants
C/G F G
And I'm gonna wait until it feels right
C/G F G
And when that time has come wild horses
Am G F
won't keep me back from where you've up and gone
[Chorus]
G F
Maybe when we're both old and wise
G F C/G
Maybe when our hearts have had some time I'm gonna see you there
C G Am G F
I'm gonna see you there. Layyyyyyyyyyyyyy. (Where we can be natural)
C G Am G F
Layy-yy-yy-yy-yy. (After all we've seen, we can do anything)
Layy-yy-yy-yy-yy (Where the good times come, where we are forever young)
Layy-yy-yy-yy-yy. (Where the heart is strong, where you come forevermore)
Layy-yy-yy-yy-yy. (Where we can be. Where we can be natural)
Layy-yy-yy-yy-yy.
Layy-yy-yy-yy-yy. (I'm gonna see you there.)
Layy-yy-yy-yy-yy.
C/G F G
'Cause I'm working on a high hope
C/G F G
And if it all works out you might
Am G F
just see me or hear from me in a while

just a small note: on the parts where you have it switch from F to G, i.e. "you might just see me..." or "...no more I'll be waiting 'round" - the chord isn't a G it's actually closer to a Cmaj9/E chord.
I know that sounds weird but I've seen Glen plays this song live and all it is is the 2nd fret of A and 1st fret of B. So when you play the C it descends to the Cmaj9/E chord right after.
The progression for the "There" parts has the Cmaj9/E chord in it as well,
and it goes - C - Cmaj9/E - Am - G - F
Everything else is spot on.

you've got the right idea for the Cmaj9/E chord primotiv86. but i wouldn't play the low E string in this chord.
i'm not sure about the parts in the verses, but for the "There" parts, it should have a B in the root to act as a passing tone to the Am chord that comes after. it should look like this:
e|-0-|
B|-1-|
G|-0-|
D|-0-|
A|-2-|
E|-x-|
often it is written as C/B. but you're right it does contain the 9th of the chord, so it is actually Cmaj9/B.

Great work. Thanks for having it up so quick after the release of the album!
FYI for others- I play the F chord with XX3211 for this track as it makes the hammer on the 2 more prominent. I am sure its not right but it sounds good.
