[Intro]
A A A A

[Verse 1]
       A A
With a lady-like devotion
    A A
She sails the bitter ocean
      D D
If it wasn't for lovesick sailors
           D A
There'd be nothin' left but flotsam

[Chorus]
        E D
Singin' why, me oh my
           A D
Is there a better man than I
           A E
I hope you find your way back home
           A D
Before you lie high and dry
           A E
I hope you find your way back home
           A D A D
Before you die

[Verse 2]
    A A
Her sails billow like bubbles
         A A
While ya sip yer daily doubles
       D D
If she wasn't so fond of the weather
          D A
She might give the deckhands trouble

[Chorus]
        E D
Singin' why, me oh my
           A D
Is there a better man than I
           A E
I hope you find your way back home
           A D
Before you lie high and dry
           A E
I hope you find your way back home
           D A E
Before you die

[Verse 3]
    A N.C.
One day when I grew older
      A
And I found I could not hold her
    D D
She took on a fine young skipper
         D A
Who soon run her up on a boulder

        E D
Singin' why, me oh my
           A D
Is there a better man than I
           A E
I hope you find your way back home
           A D
Before you lie high and dry
           A E
I hope you find your way back home
           A D A D A E
Before you die

[Verse 4]
        A N.C.
Now the pleasures of the harbor
         A A7
Don't include a lady barber
      D D
If it wasn't for Long John Silver
          D A
All of us pirates would've been martyrs

[Chorus]
        E D
Singin' why, me oh my
           A D
Is there a better man than I

I hope you find your way back home
           A D
Before you lie high and dry
           A E
I hope you find your way back home
           A D
Before you lie high and dry
           A E
I hope you find your way back home

Properly, this song was done in "high strung" or "Nashville" tuning, where E A D and G are replaced with .027w, .018, .012 and .009 diameter strings and tuned an octave up. The result is having a 6 string playing the high octave half of a 12 string set. But unless you're willing to dedicate a guitar to this string/tuning combination, the broken barre method is a good approximation.

2nd verse is "her sails bellow like bubbles", otherwise not enough syllables. Otherwise GREAT!
