        C F/C C
Like a dog, like a dog, I've sat by your door,
                 C B A G
Hoping for any scraps you might throw.
 A F/C C C D E F
And I whine sometimes 'cause I need your love.

And I have loved you like a dog.

        C F/C C

While you are out gallivanting somewhere.

       One little scratch means everything.
C G C
And I have loved you like a dog.

   Maybe I shouldn't admit it.
B7 F# Em
   Maybe I shouldn't have tried.
Adim7 G
You want somethin', honey, I'll get it.

A dog is not burdened with pride.

When you call my name, call me a good boy.

I wish I had a dog's heart instead of this one.

For some reason, UG edited my chords and ruined them. They didn't understand that slash chords like (for example) /F# means to play F# as a bass note and they changed my chart to make it look like you're supposed to play an F# chord. This happened for all of the slash chords. E-mail me if you want the actual chord chart. I send you the text file.

cool-I was playing the F# bass rather than the chord before I read your comment-very much a Greg Brown thing-thanks for the tab!
