The rhythm is a little weird, at least for me, because the more natural/easier way to play it is 8 strums on the Em, then 4 on C and 4 on D. However, when I listened closely to the song I realized that it's actually 6 strums on the Em shape, then 6 on C and 4 on D as you work your way back up the neck, and that's what is reflected in the tab.
