-Howie Day is a singer/songwriter type who uses really cool effects to accompany
his acoustic guitar...he also has a flock-of-seagulls haircut -www.howieday.com
I haven't seen any of howie day's songs tabbed out so I figured I'd post mine
Tuning: standard
Howie uses this loop effects machine to create the really high notes you hear
(I saw him play it once on Kilborn...)
The part I've tabbed is just the chords he plays while singing...
Verse/Chorus:
Strum C#min, A (power chord version), and E
Listen to the song for the rhythm
e|---0---0---0-----------------------------------------0---2-----------------|
B|---5---0---0-----------------------------------------2---0-----------------|
G|---6---6---2-----------------------------------------2---2-----------------|
D|---6---7---2-----towards the end of the verse--------2---2-----------------|
A|---4---7---1----he plays this variation of the E:----1---1-----------------|
E|-------5-------------------------------------------------------------------|
Then the bridge goes:
"I just wanna taste love..."
e|---0---0---0---------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---5---0---0---------------------------------------------------------------|
G|---6---6---8---------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---6---7---9---------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---4---7---9---------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-------5---7---------------------------------------------------------------|
End on E

This is my first tab and I'm really proud of myself...

I agree. As far as I can tell, the third chord should be a standard E: 022100, not X12200. X12200 sounds awful. You named the chord right, just defined it wrong.

The E chord is wrong, but thats a little mistake in a good tab.
