Once again greetings! I'm back with another complete tab. I figured
out this song the same way I did "Wish You Were Here". It's almost
impossible to figure out all the aspects of this song without hearing
a live performance, because certain parts during the chorus are almost
impossible to hear on the cd. So many people, in their tabs, say there
isn't much guitar during the verse, so they don't put anything but
that. 'Tis just an excuse for laziness! But I am here to give you the
most complete and accurate tabs that I can. Remember you can always

see, Pardon Me... Well Shall we begin? Mike again uses standard tuning
low to high: (E A D G B E) for this song as well. He also uses a
number of effects and a very nifty technique called volume swelling.
Well anyways, he uses delay, echo, and some phaser. Well let's break
down the song.
 
A. Intro
 
In the intro Mike uses the combination of delay, echo, phaser, and
volume swells. This I must add gives off an amazing sound that is
heaven to the ears! I will use this symbol ( ^ ) to repesent the
volume swells. But anyways he plays the intro like this:

B. Verse
 
Probably the most controversal part of the song. There's a lot of
guitar here, and there's even a pick scrape that every doesn't tab out
on their tabs. The pick scrape is at the very end of the verse, and
it's on the 6th string. The scrape goes down from the pick-up farthest
from the bridge to almost the 12th fret, and lasts just about 4
seconds. I will represent the pick scrape with this symbol (---). The
verse also has delay, echo, phaser, and volume swells just like the
intro. I will represent the sound the delay trails off with by using
the numbers in parenthesis. But anyways here is the verse:

also, your G-6 D-6 A-4 chords should be played G--6 D--6 A--4 E--4

Actually I think its a phaser going full speed while he plays that last chord. I think live he uses his phase 90 for this, he just clicks it on for the last chord to get that fast and wild modulation and then off again, its just like one second of phasing.

yah!!! ing the recording mike used a delay and a flanger but if you noticed that if they are playing this song in live mike uses a phaser instead of a flanger... it sounds differently and when we play this song live we are using a phaser not a flanger but if you try to use a flanger it sounds also nice like the sound with the phaser...
