HERE IT IS:CALEB'S FAVOURITE SONG OF A-HA SHAKE HEARTBREAK:
NOTE:(I've put the basic chords even the kings don't play any guitar chord
in this song)
This is played all trough the song:
Bm C#m A
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
----------9------11-----7------------------
-------------------------------------------
------7-------9------5-------------5-6-7---
CHORUS:this is the powerful BASS line of the chorus:
Bm C#m D
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
-7--7--7--7--9--9--9--9--10--10--10--10--10--10--10--10-
Bm C#m A (let Ring the A note)
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
-7--7--7--7--9--9--9--9--5---------------------
Guitar doubles this and goes briefly while bass rings at the end:
---------------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------
----10-9--------10-9-------
-7------------7------------
Then this beautiful BASS line:
----------------------------------------------
------------------------4--4------------------
---------5-----7--7-----------7--5------5-----
-5---7-----7-------------------------7--------
Again, in a brief interval:
Bm C#m A
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
----------9------11-----7------------------
-------------------------------------------
------7-------9------5-------------5-6-7---
Bass plays first riff again and in the first line Matthew gives us a little lick, fit it in where it goes:
----------------------------
----------------------------
----------------------------
12--9--x12--x9--/////16-----
----------------------------
----------------------------
Bass part repeated, play lick over bass:
Bm C#m D
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
-7--7--7--7--9--9--9--9--10--10--10--10--10--10--10--10-
Play five times,then:
Bm C#m A (Let Ring the A note)
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
-7--7--7--7--9--9--9--9--5---------------------
With the guitar bit at the end:
---------------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------
---------------------------
----10-9--------10-9-------
-7------------7------------
Then the great little riff at the end played over the bass:
Palm Mute strings
---------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
-12--9--x12--x9--///14-----12--9--x12--x916--------------
|----------------------------------------------------- |--|
---------------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------- |--|
--12--9--x12--x9--12----12--9--x12--x9--\\\7-------------
|----------------------------------------------------- |--|
Play this about 4 times, then the outro is simply the intro twice:
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
----------9------11-----7------------------
-------------------------------------------
------7-------9------5-------------5-6-7---
------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's all. In this song as well as in TRANI, you can hear the biggest Kings of
Without playing chords, they've created the best
acoustic song ever.

he actually got this round the wrong way.
The first verse should go 9 fret on the e string and 7 fret on the d string, then 11 fret on the e string with 7 fret on D and then 7 fret on e string and 6th fret on D.
Another easier way to do this is to do it on the a string. This makes it 4th fret on A string and 2nd fret on g string, 1st fret on D string and 2nd fret on g string then 2nd fret on A sring 1 fret on G string.
When i saw them live i believe it was played the second way and the g string was a wound string not an open wire string to give it that heavy string sound.

Oh and the Chorus is rather simple.
it goes 2nd fret to 4th fret as a slide on A string - 2nd fret on D string back to 4th on the A String then 4th on D as a hit from 2nd fret, then slide twice from 4th fret on D to 6th fret on D string - then 4th on d to 2 on D string, back to 4th on A and then finish on 2nd fret on the D string - maybe i should write this up?
