The Other Guy – Little River Band
Someone saw my Tab for Night Owls by LRB and asked if I knew where 'The Other Guy'
could be found. I looked around but again couldn’t find it, so, unaccustomed as I
am, I’ve had a bash at interpreting it - especially in view of the title - thought
I had to have a go.
Hope it seems vaguely close and helps you out! Happy to have any constructive feedback!

F Fc(cut) D5 Bb C (*) C (*alternative) G
e----1--------X---------X--------1--------3--------0------------------3
B----1--------X---------X--------3--------5--------1------------------0
G----2--------2---------2--------3--------5--------0------------------0
D----3--------3---------0--------3--------5--------2------------------0
A----3--------3---------0--------1--------3--------3------------------2
E----1--------X---------X--------1--------3--------X------------------3
To me, the beginning, that wonderful 2 part driving beat sounds like it’s
dominated by the bass guitar in the actual version, and so I feel this 3 finger
plucked Fc D5 is the best interpretation from an acoustic/rhythm guitar. If you’re
an advanced player, play this then make the tricky change to Bb…....
For mere mortals** – just play F instead of Fc D5.
(PS – there is no such chord as Fc – I’ve just made that one up. – for the
purists, it is still technically an F as it has the 1,3 and 5 in it – so to
distinguish it from the full 6 string strum F, I’ve called it Fc. )
** Or try one of the following:
Put a Capo on Fret 1 and substitute:
E shape for F
A shape for Bb
B shape for C (ie barred on the actual 3rd fret A shape)
F# shape for G (ie barred on the 3rd fret E shape)
or easier still, put a capo on Fret 3 and substitute:
D shape for F
G shape for Bb
A shape for C (ie barred on the actual 3rd fret A shape)
E shape for G (ie barred on the 3rd fret E shape)

It's nice that you submitted this tab, but I'm not sure how it got thru the approval process. Since the chords should be something that you hover over and the chord shape pops up. Like you said; Fc and D5 aren't actual chords. So this submission isn't that great for auto scrolling and reading along to the music.
+1

That's not Dc - It's Dm.
F / Dm x4 is the riff.
Barre cords work well.

you bashed thru it my friend good or bad, right or wrong as long as your trying. At first I tried and got one of those quirkie looks we Americans tend to get when puzzled. it may need a bit of messaging however your efforts are greatly appreciated by myself and I many others. we'll figure it out as we go. thank you very much for giving it a shot, little rivers bands music while very soothing to listen to could be considered a challenge to play and get right.
BTW are you by chance near Dorchester? I ask because id like to make friends in that area and attend Crimson Guitars 3 month Luthies course and be fine just pitching a tent there for 90 days. hell I was in and with the US Army 30 plus years so its would be duck soup so to speak. Cheers my friends and keep rocking. Derek Colton, The Future "D'Adin Custom Guitars"
