Do they work on any other Instrument? Probably, but don't call me out on that...

A SONG ABOUT ACNE
- Charlie McDonnell

*Tip*
Use the following fingering for the chords except for the A in the Outro:

     G C E A
D 2 2 2 5
E 4 4 4 7
A 6 4 5 4
G 4 3 2 3

[Intro]
D A E G x2

[Verse 1]
D
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
D A G
Spots on my face too much acne to embrace
    D A G
the person behind them
D A G
zits on my back with heads bright white, scarlet and black
    D A G
in much too much an awkward place to pop them
D A G
pimples on my chest probably there because I'm stressed
D A G
about the people talking behind my back
          D A G
about the spots on my face the ones i wish i could erase
     D A G
just like the so called friends that like to tease me about them

[Chorus]
D E G A
clearasil and freederm sitting in my bathroom
    D E G A
the spots on my face can confirm that they don't really work
D E G A
proactiv solution deserves an execution
    D E G A
for being an ablution that does nothing but smirk at me
       G A
'cause I'm an acne ridden teen

[Interlude]
 D A E G x2

[Verse 2]
D
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
D A G
countless times I've tried and tried but my skin just ends up all dry
    D A G
and I'm left wanting to stay inside
    D A G
but then one day I said charlie it's not as bad as it could be
        D A G
they're only spots it's not like you've died
D A G
be a man, be who you are but try not to pop them in case they scar
D A G
even though squeezing them is fun fun FUN!
D A G
understand at the end of the day to put your hands down and say okay
    D A
get out of the bathroom,
    G
and lie out in the sun - because I heard that helps -

[Chorus]
D E G A
clearasil and freederm sitting in my bathroom
    D E G A
the spots on my face can confirm that they don't really work
D E G A
proactiv solution deserves an execution
    D E G A
for being an ablution that does nothing but smirk at me
       G A
'cause I'm an acne ridden teen

[Bridge]

but I won't let that define me
             G A
because the people that mind don't matter
        G A
and the people that matter don't mind
   G A
so when all that puss goes splatter
G A
wipe it off your mirror, and wipe it from your mind
       D A G
'cause you could try and dairy free diet
    D A G
and drink 8 cups of water a day
    D A G
but in the end your acne will still run riot
           D A G
'cause the hormones that cause them, just won't go away

[Interlude]
D A E G x3
scatting
D A G x4

[Chorus]
D E G A
clearasil and freederm sitting in my bathroom
    D E G A
the spots on my face can confirm that they don't really work
D E G A
proactiv solution deserves an execution
    D E G A
for being an ablution that does nothing but smirk at me
              G
'cause I'm an acne ridden
A
somewhat smelly
G
Kind of weird
    A D
But generally A ok teen

BIRTHDAY SONG
- Charlie McDonnell

Just three neat bar chords for the uke players:

     G C E A
Ab 5 3 4 3
G 4 2 3 2
Cm 5 3 3 3

Ab G Cm
This is a song that I wrote you for your birthday
Ab G Cm
Because I couldn't be bothered to buy you anything
Ab G
And I know that you might think that
             Cm G
Writing this song required more effort
           Ab G Cm
Than going out and buying you something
N.C.
But I can promise that it didn't

Ab G Cm
I'm not even going to include your name in this song
Ab G Cm
Because that way I can use it on somebody else
Ab G Cm G
And if you listen closely then you might be able to tell
       Ab G Cm
That I only bothered using three chords
                                       G
I guess that just shows you how much I care

Ab G Cm G
Happy birthday insert name here
Ab G Cm
Congratulations on living another year
Ab G Cm G
Only joking I did get you something
    Ab G Cm
And it's right here

DOWN
- Dodie Clark

Strumming and stuff
This song needs to be fingerpicked to sound propper. Nothing too complicated just pluck the
C string once and then the E and the A string twice in a 3/4 manner.
(Occasionally the chords are strummed or plucked as a whole, just watch dodies video to figure this one out)

Chords and stuff
To play the chords as dodie does try to use these chord shapes for the following chords:

      G C E A
D 2 2 2 5
Em/Eb 0 3 3 2
G/Db 0 1 3 2
Cm 0 3 3 0 (this is something I do in the verses. Don't know why, other than I like the way it sounds)

[Intro]
G Gaug G Gaug

[Verse]
G
I woke up as heavy as lead
                         D

[Chorus]
            Em Em/Eb
But there's things to do
          G G/Db

  Em/Eb
I felt like you once, I wish I could shout

          G
It's like walking around with a stone for a heart
       Gaug
People swimming in honey as your life falls apart
     Em
It's cold and it's dark, and there's no way out

    G
You never can undo the brain
                                  D D
Now it knows of the holes it will fall as it's trained

DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
- Chris Rea

Quick Disclaimer:
This is probably not how the actual chords should be, but it is what I do and what I think works on the uke.

The chordshapes you need:

      G C E A
C#m7 1 1 0 2 (in the verse)
C#m7 4 4 4 4 (in the chorus)
D6 2 2 2 2

For the Instrumental part, just hold a bar chord slide it up the fretboard with the occasional
middlefinger on the C string

You can start off by Fingerpicking the upper three strings from lowest to highest note (C#, E, G#)

[Intro]

GEHEIMER TUNNEL (AVATAR)
- Chong

For this one we need to do some minor fingerpicking stuff.
The A and F#m chords are plucked similarly:

     A
G |----------------:|
C |--1-------------:|
E |-----0----0-----:|
A |------00-----0--:|

     F#m
G |----------------:|
C |--1-------------:|
E |-----2----2-----:|
A |------00-----0--:|

The E chord however changes things up a bit:

     E
G |----------1-----:|
C |--4-------------:|
E |-----0----------:|
A |------22-----2--:|

And that is it for the fingerpicking. The C#m is merely plucked once at the end of the verse and
the Chorus is vigorous strumming.
Have fun!

HAUCH MICH MAL AN
- Lumpenpack

If you played this song before you might find that instead of the Fmaj13 in the verses you find now a simple F
The basis of this confusion is due to the Fmaj13 not only beeing a really weird chord shape, but also sounding
terrible on the uke. The F however sounds just fine, so I'll take it...
As a little bonus Roland-thingy: I usually use a simple "down down-up up-down-up" strumming for the verses and
change it to a rather quick "down down-up down down-up" pattern for the chorus. In the bridge the chords are
just strummed once.

[Verse]

MARTIN WAS A MONKEY
- Jay Foreman

[Verse]
C Fmaj7
Martin was a monkey
   C Fmaj7
He lived in London zoo
   C Fmaj7
He had a monkey tyre
      C Fmaj7
And a monkey tree branch too

[Verse Alteration]
    Am G
But Martin wasn't happy there
   Am G
He sat and dreamt all day
 Am D
About the thing he wanted most
  G G7
A skiing holiday

[Verse]
     C Fmaj7
He'd shoot off down the mountain
    C Fmaj7
And whizz across the snow
     C Fmaj7
He'd slalom in between the flags
   C Fmaj7
He couldn't wait to go

[Chorus]
       Am
But he never did go skiing
   Dm7
He couldn't go because
Gm
Martin was a monkey
      C Fmaj7
And a monkey's what he was.

[Verse]
   C Fmaj7
He told his friends about it
     C Fmaj7
They thought that it was daft
     C Fmaj7
They laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed
    C Fmaj7
And laughed and laughed and laughed.

[Verse Alteration]
       A G
But he left his branch, he left his tree
   A G
He leapt apon the floor
       A D
But he couldn't leave the cage
          G G7
Because a lock was on the door

[Verse]
   C Fmaj7
He talked to the zookeepers
   C Fmaj7
He asked to be set free
    C Fmaj7
But nobody would listen
          C Fmaj7
'Cos they couldn't speak monkey

[Chorus]
      Am
So He never did go skiing
   Dm7
He couldn't go because
Gm
Martin was a monkey
      C Fmaj7
And a monkey's what he was.

[Bridge]
   Am
He stood and looked out from the cage
   Em
It simply wasn't fair
    Am
Why did he have to stay inside
     Em
When skiing was out there?

[Verse Alteration]
    A G
But that's the way life was
              A G
And there was nothing he could do
   A D
It seemed that all things had a place
    G G7
And his was in the zoo.

[Verse]
   C Fmaj7
So Martin never got his dream
   C Fmaj7
He simply sat and cried
   C Fmaj7
He spent his life in London Zoo
  C Fmaj7
Until the day he died.

[Chorus]
      Am
So He never did go skiing
   Dm7
He couldn't go because
Gm
Martin was a monkey
      C Fmaj7
And a monkey's what he was.
  C Fmaj7
A monkey's what he was.
  C Fmaj7
A monkey's what he was.

NOT PERFECT
- Tim Minchin

This might be a rather crude transcription of Tim Minchins beautiful piano playing, but I like the Song too
much to leave it out of this Collection. So, yeah... some of the chords are quite dodgy.
I also left out the part where he sings about his country, because... well I don't live in Australia...
So in that way this version is similar to the one found on his 2011 Album "Tim Minchin and the
Heritage Orchestra"

Some of the chords I play differently to the standard chord shape. And I suggest you do so as well.

The force created by its spin

PATRICIA THE STRIPPER
- Chris de Burgh

[Intro]
C E7
Dennis is a menace with his 'anyone for tennis?'
      Am C7
and beseeching me to come and keep the score.
    F Fm
And Maud says, 'Oh Lord, I'm so terribly bored.

I really can't stand it anymore.

[Verse]
          C E7
I'm going out to dinner with a gorgeous singer
     Am C7
to a little place I found down by the quay,
    F Fm
her name is Patricia, she calls herself Delicia,
        C Am D7 G7
and the reason isn't very hard to see.

          C E7
She says 'God made her a sinner just to keep fat man thinner,

        C Am D7 G7 N.C.
one can often see them queue right down the street.

[Pre-Chorus]

You see, Patricia (or Delicia) not only is a singer,

she also removes all her clothing

the police were banging on the door,

But poor Patricia was arrested and everyone detested

the manner in which she was exposed.

a summer run in jail would be proposed.

[Pre-Chorus]

REAL LOVE
- John Lennon

The chord shapes I use:

      G C E A
C#m 6 4 4 4
E* 4 4 4 7
A* 6 4 5 4
Am6 2 0 2 3

This one requires some finger picking, which is pretty straight forward most of the time.
Basically you are just alternating between plucking the E- and A-string together followed by the C-string.

If you dare you might add some neat transitions to the second half of the Intro and the Bridges.
I usually play it like this:

     Em B7
G |-------------------------|--------------------2---|
C |-----4-----------4-----4-|-----3-----3-----3-----3|
E |--3-----3-----3-----3----|--2-----2-----2---------|
A |--2--------0--2-----3----|--2-----2-----2---------|

     Em B7
G |-------------------------|------------------------|
C |-----4-----------4-----4-|-----3-----3------------|
E |--3-----3-----3-----3----|--2-----2-----2---------|
A |--2--------0--2-----3----|--2-----2-----2---------|

If this says nothing to you... well I'm afraid you have to ask me what I mean by those convoluted descriptions

For the outro I just play the First Line twice slowing down as I get to the end and finishing
with a strum on Em.

RENNRAD

SCREW YOU (SCRUBS)
- Kate Micucci

For this one we'll need some more fingerpicking action! I strongly suggest listening to the original, I think
it its much easier to get how it should sound than with a tabulature, but you do you.

Essentially we have more or less the same picking pattern per chord with some minor tweaks here and there.

The one for F and G are identical:
     F G
G |----------------| G |----------------|
C |--------0-------| C |--------2-------|
E |-----1------1---| E |-----3------3---|
A |--0--------0----| A |--2--------2----|

The C is a bit different:
     C
G |-----0------0---|
C |----------------|
E |--------0-------|
A |--3--------3----|

And the Em has a yet another different picking thing going on
     Em
G |-----0------0---|
C |--------4-------|
E |--3-------------|
A |--2--------2----|

Lucky for you, you just have to fingerpick the Verses and Bridges, the rest is just normal strumming.
Have Fun!

[Verse]
C Em F G
I've got so many questions in my mind
C Em F G
I've got so many answers to find
C Em F G
Can you be the man I've imagined?
C Em F G
Am I imagical enough for this to happen?

[Bridge]
        C
Cause I like you (I like you)
  Em F G
I like you (I like you)

[Chorus]
    F G
And like can lead to like-like
    E7 F
And like-like can lead to love
            C Em F G
Sure as the stars above I'd really like to kiss you (screw you) Oh...

[Verse]
C Em F G
Can I be the man you're looking for?
C Em F G
Can I be your girl forever more?
C Em F G
I'll try real hard not to lose her
    C Em F G
And I'll try to be less of a loser

[Bridge]
        C
Cause I like you (I like you)
 Em F G
I like you (I like you)

[Chorus]
    F G
And like can lead to like-like
    E7 F
And like-like can lead to love
            C Em F G
Sure as the stars above I'd really like to screw you, kiss you, screw you, kiss you

SKIN SOFA
- Jay Foreman

As mentioned in the intro: This song is in 5/8 time... so good luck I guess!

[Intro]
C B Em
Doo-doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo-doo
Em
(also, just to fuck with you, I've put it in 5/8 time; count along kids!)

[Verse]
Em C
Can I interest anyone in my sofa?
     D Em
It's cheap but it requires some extra care
Em Cmaj7 C
It gets rather sweaty between the cushions
B7 Em
So be sure to keep it clean down there

[Verse]
Em C
Sorry about the rash from where I've been sitting
        D Em
And the blisters from where I spilt bolognese
Em Cmaj7 C
By the way it's not normally this hairy
B7 Em
I've not shaved it now for several days (it gets worse)

[Bridge]
           C C
And if you do decide to wax it please exfoliate to
 G G
Avoid ingrowing hair
    C C
And leave the curtains closed or it'll get a sunburn
B7
Peeling everywhere oooooh it's got a nipple

[Verse]
Em C
It will keep you warm like no other sofa
    D Em
But it comes out in goosebumps when it's cold
Em Cmaj7 C
All stains come right out with soap and water
B7 Em
Not too bad for eighty nine years old

[Bridge]
    C C
And don't sit there for too long or you'll get a puddle
G G
Underneath your thighs
  C C
I hope somebody takes it I don't want to know what
B7
Happens when it dies

[Outro]
Em
Skin sofa, skin sofa
C B7
eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
Em
Skin sofa, skin sofa
C D
eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh
Em
Skin sofa, skin sofa
C B7 Em N.C.
eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh (thank you very much)

THE BOY IN THE BUBBLE
- Paul Simon

This one was rather difficult for me because of the quick chord changes throughout. As a little tip:
try to get the strumming pattern down first and dont try to match your singing to the chord changes as
mentioned in the tab. This is merely a rough estimation at times.

The crux however is that I am not able to write the strumming pattern down. I'm afraid you have to ask me,
if you want to know how I play it

   C E Am F

[Chorus]
       F C
För om jag fick välja nåt
G C
Skulle jag välja dig
     F C
O-om du ska välja nåt
          G C
Så hoppas jag du väljer mig

      F C
Ja om jag fick välja nåt
G C
Skulle jag välja dig
     F C
O-om du ska välja nåt
          G C
Så hoppas jag du väljer mig

WATCHING THE WORLD GO BY
- Beans on Toast

I like to add a little variation on the last D chord:

     G C E A
D* 2 2 2 5

Well not much of a variation. It's more an alternative chord shape, but you get the gist. Enjoy!

[Verse]
        D
Well, today feels like a Bob Marley song
          G
I got the afternoon off, there's nothing going on
   D
My head is in the clouds and the sun is in the sky
A D
Watching the world go by

        D
And you have to admit that it looks fantastic
        G
There's so many reasons to be optimistic
D
Savoring the moment of just being alive
A D
Watching the world go by

[Chorus]
              G
Well, this is not a competition, it isn't a race
        D
I got a spring in my step and a smile on my face
  G
A head full of hopes and a handful of dreams
  D
A heart so full that it's bursting at the seams
    A D
And I... watching the world go by

[Verse]
        D
I might drink a little wine, I might smoke a little weed
   G
Go down to the river and see where it leads
        D
There's no such thing as killing time
A D
Watching the world go by

       D
And it feels so good just to unplug
          G
You know, sometimes it's best to just turn that shit off
    D
And marvel at the movement of a butterfly
A D
Watching the world go by

[Chorus]
              G
Well, this is not a competition, it isn't a race
        D
I got a spring in my step and a smile on my face
  G
A head full of hopes and a handful of dreams
  D
A heart so full that it's bursting at the seams
    A D
And I... watching the world go by

[Instrumental break]
G D G D A D
(whistling)

[Chorus]
              G
Well, this is not a competition, it isn't a race
        D
I got a spring in my step and a smile on my face
  G
A head full of hopes and a handful of dreams
  D
A heart so full that it's bursting at the seams
    A D
And I... watching the world go by
    A D
And I... watching the world go by

[Outro]
G D A D D*
(whistling)

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR FOOD FROM GRANDMA?
- Jay Foreman

I unfortunately missremembered the verse and since like forever played a "Cdim7" instead of the correct "Bb9".
Since this is the Rolandlieder-Anthology I think I have to include this mistake though.
On the ukulele at least this works quite well. And if by chance Jay Foreman himself might stumble over this
now horribly deranged version of his song... I'm sorry, I really am.

[Chorus]
Am Am/G F7
Where d'you get your food from Grandma?
           Am Am/G F7 E7
Though I'm grateful that you feed me a lot
         Am E7
From the biscuits to the chocolate
       C Am
To the tea bags to the crumpets
         F7 E7 Am
You have products no one else has got.

[Verse]
   F7 Am
In other people's houses they have Cornflakes and Kit Kats
         F7 Am
But your cupboard hasn't any of these.
            Cdim7
You give me unbranded malt flakes
    Gm7
And mysterious wafers
    E7
And uniquely semi-circular cheese.

[Chorus]
Am Am/G F7
Where d'you get your food from, Grandma?
    Am Am/G F7 E7
I'm puzzled by the packets you buy
           Am E7
I've never seen them on TV
      C Am
Or in any supermarket
        F7 E7
Yet you somehow have an endless supply.

[Trumpet Solo]
Am Am/G F7 F7
Am Am/G F7 E7
Am E7 C Am
F7 E7 Am

[Verse]
        F7 Am
Come to think of it how long has that stuff been in your cupboard
        F7 Am
And why do you always offer me more?
            Cdim7 Gm7
How come we never see you eating any of it yourself?
             E7
Have you been keeping it in there since the War?

[Outro]
Am Am/G F7 E7 Am
Where d'you get your food from, Grandma?
