The bass comes in after the intro plays twice, and continues to the end more or less.
Dampen each note you play by releasing the pressure slightly with the finger you fret with.
I've been playing with the arrangement and this sounds good to me. You might want to try
the F fretted on the A string to the one fretted on the D string third fret.
