Song: Give a little bit
Artist: Supertramp
Composers: Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson
Album: Even in the quietest moments

Tabbed by: DJ 26th Dec 2018

To hear the original album track,

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:
There are two different voicings each for the
A7 and D chords and three variations of the G/D chord
the appropriate ones identified with asterisks.

FINE TUNING:
It's likely the tapes were sped up fractionally at the
final mixing stage, making the original album track
quite sharp. To closer match this pitch use a chromatic
tuner and tune all the strings up by +25 cents above
standard pitch, otherwise your guitar will sound a
little flat in comparison.

Alternatively,
use a live version that is in standard pitch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQcW716nwFQ
Here Roger has a capo on the 1st fret, but is clearly
already tuned down a half-step, so his capo is just
there to bring it back up to standard pitch again,
a very common practise when using 12 string guitars
to take a bit of pressure off of the neck.

An acoustic version in standard pitch:

IGNORE THE CHORD BOX DIAGRAMS that the website
displays, they are generated automatically from a
generic database and often don't show the best
option for a particular chord progression. Just use
the voicings suggested in the text column numbers

If it's not for you then there are plenty of over simplified versions of songs on UG for those that need them, I try to offer more fine detail. It can take a lot of my spare time to tab songs, all I get out of it is the hope that there's some who appreciate the extra time and effort, which, the majority of those who bother to star rate at all, pretty much do. This is a community, not just a valuable resource, your comment is vague and helps no one. If you feel I have some chords or lyrics wrong then I am open to positive, practical suggestions which you can leave in the comments box. Your 3 star rating is a tad harsh.

UG software doesn't recognise some of the more unusual chords, so don't rely on their pop-up boxes, please use my chord legend in my header information. The chord names may not be familiar to you but the actual shapes are really pretty simple once you've learnt them and got a handle on the few riffs. Just give it a go, a bit of time spent will be rewarding. DJ
