It's a Talking Heads favorite folks! Break out the Groceries and Peanut Butter!
This has pretty simple chords but the chord changes are rather quick if the song is played at the normal
tempo.
No Capo
This is how I do the strum pattern. If you have a difficult time, just have fun and make your own strum
pattern.
Also, if you have a difficult time switching chords rapidly, instead of C-A-C-A, you could play C-X-C-A.
Simply
muting the middle switch instead.

Life During Wartime – Talking Heads
How to play

If you play a one finger A and keep it anchored, you can reach for the A string 3rd fret for the C and the Low E third fret for the G. You are basically moving just one finger through those ACA ACG changes.
Hope that was clear.

It's actually a 2 chord song - Am and E.
Play the Am as a barre chord on the 5th fret. Then for every 'C' or 'G' here, all you do is lift off the two fingers leaving the one holding the barre. You will get the effect of following the bass player who plays C and G at those points - but there's NO NEED to play a full C or a G chord.

Nice work, and yes the timing on the chord changes is FAST! And, mucho thanks to pocketfullofmayhem's tip, it's 1000% helpful. Also, with that tip, I tried partially capo'ing the 2nd fret from the bottom-side of the neck and only capo'ing the e,B,G,D (1st,2nd,3rd,4th) strings, leaving the A and E strings (5th and 6th strings)open and then hammering the C (3rd fret A string).
