Even if you are trying to tab it in a different key, the progression you tabbed is off. I tabbed the CD recording. This is exact for the guitar..ignore what the mandolin is playing, because the guitar doesn't play those notes. Here's something to think about when tabbing songs...the guitar, bass, keys, banjo, mandolin...they don't always play the same thing...where the bass may be playing G, D, B...the guitar may be playing G, F#,E..etc.....but, this is the acoustic guitar tab. Tuning Down 1/2 step: D#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D# ..or.. Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb If you don't wanna tune down, just capo the 1st fret and the first 2 chords are D5 - F If you play in standard E tuning, you can CAPO the 1st FRET and transpose each chord down one full key (down 2 frets, basically).. INTRO: Em - G - Em - G Em It ain't complicated G Well, I've grown to hate it C D I never liked the taste of crow but baby I ate it Em They tried to warn me G They said that you were ornery C Am So don't bring me those big brown eyes and tell me that you're sorry C D Well you might as well throw gasoline on a fire G D C The way you lie G D C G You lie like a priceless Persian rug on a rich man's floor G D C D You lie like a coon dog basking in the sunshine on my porch Em C D G You lie like a penny in the parking lot at the grocery store Am C It just comes way too natural to you G D C The way you lie Em That ain't my perfume G I bet she had a curfew C D You told me you were out with the boys and baby I believed you Em So why you lookin' so nervous C You know you're gonna deserve this G Am I oughta kill you right now and do the whole wide world a service C D Well my daddy's gonna straighten you out like a piece of wire, like a piece of wire G D C The way you lie G D C G You lie like a priceless Persian rug on a rich man's floor G D C D You lie like a coon dog basking in the sunshine on my porch Em C D G You lie like a penny in the parking lot at the grocery store Am C It just comes way too natural to you G D C The way you lie Well, I'll tell you what I'm gonna do Em D/F# G I'm gonna drive into the big ol' muddy river C Bm I'm gonna park my car in the middle of the mile-long bridge Em D/F# G And then I'm gonna cry well maybe just a little C Then I'm gonna slip off the ring that you put on my finger D G D/F# Em7 D5 Give it a big ol' fling and watch it sink down, down, down G D There it's gonna lie C Until the Lord comes back around G D C G You lie like a priceless Persian rug on a rich man's floor G D C G You lie like a coon dog basking in the sunshine on my porch Em C D G You lie like a penny in the parking lot at the grocery store Am C It just comes so dang natural to you G D C The way you lie G D The way you lie C (let note ring out) Well it's what you do, it's who you are
