PM Just like in Jambi, he pulls off of the D (Low E) and upstroke-muteson the A string. Play it, try it out slowly and up to speed and listento the song, that is the way he does it. He does it a couple of times inVicarious as well, probably more, but those are the only ones I'm awareof right now. Cheers. @Dublo7 asked this and I Was wondering for the longest time until I figured it out. It creates a little triplet feel which you will quickly understand. Downpick/palm mute on the Low E at the 12th fret, pull off, up-pick on the open A, nice triplet feel.
