[Verse 1]
Am Am7/G D7/F#
  The most familiar room
 B Em
Every implement was leading to you
           C G
And your homely sense of dissaray
                Dm
Never once the same
C C/B Am
Always rearranged
Am Am7/G D7/F#
But things would never change
B Em
In the seam between the window frame
            C G
Where the jackals preyed on every soul
                          Dm
Where they tied you to a pole
C C/B G
And stripped you of your clothes

[Chorus]
(G) C Bm Bm/F#
   I was a dreamer
Em Am Bm
   Staring out windows
G C Bm Bm/F#
   Out onto the main street
Em Am Bm
Cause that's where the dream goes

[Verse 2]
           Am Am7/G D7/F#
And each time they found fresh meat to chew
B Em
I would turn away and return to you
            C G
You would offer me your unmade bed
                  Dm C
Feed me till I'm fed
        C/B Am
And read me till I'm read
     Am7/G D7/F#
But when the morning came
B Em
You would catch me at the window again
        C G
In an eyes wide open sleeping state
               Dm C
Staring into space
         C/B G
With no look upon my face

[Chorus]
(G) C Bm Bm/F#
   I was a dreamer
Em Am Bm
   Staring out windows
G C Bm Bm/F#
   Out onto the main street
Em Am Bm
Cause that's where the dream goes

[Bridge]
C C/B Am
And when I got older
Am Am/G F
When I grew bolder
F G
Out onto the streets I flew
Am Am/B C
Released from your shackles
C G
I danced with the Jackals
F G
And learned a new way to move

[Verse 3]
         Am Am7/G D7/F#
So before you take this song as truth
B Em
You should wonder what I'm taking from you
        C G
How I benefit from you being here
                 Dm C
Lending me your ears
           C/B G
While I'm selling you my fears

(G) C Bm
I was a dreamer (I'm selling you my fears)
Em Am Bm
Staring out windows (I'm selling you my fears)
G C Bm
Out onto the main street (I'm selling you my fears)
Em Am Bm
Cause that's where the dream goes (I'm selling you...)

G C Bm
  I was a dreamer
Em Am Bm
   Staring out windows
G C Bm
   Out onto the main street
Em Am Bm
Cause that's where the dream goes

I think you might be right about Am7/G instead of Am/G, not sure I agree about Cadd9 instead of C though. Changing the first chord, thanks for the tip!

I have a feeling that the chorus chords are quite wrong here. In reality they are more like this: I was a dreamer (G, C, Bm, alright) Staring out windows (Em, Am, Bm) and they you repeat the progression again. That's my opinion, thank you for listening :)

Thanks a lot, I agree it's a lot more complicated, but I also usually appreciate the easier interpretations. At least it makes it a lot easier to sing along, haha.
