Willy Mason - Still a Fly
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, this is my first tab, so I'm not sure if it's completely accurate, but it sounds ok to me.
Any comments or corrections are welcome.
Standard tuning (EADGBE)
Intro: play 2x C Am G
e|----------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------1--1-----------1--1-----------0--0-------------|
G|--------0--0--0--------2--2--2--------0--0--0--0--0-------|
D|-----2--------------2--------------0-----------------3--2-|
A|--3--------------0----------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------3-------------------------|
Verse 1 (play with the same picking pattern as the intro)
C
That's alright, that's okay
Am
I can wait, you're still a fly
G
Eating through, trying to live within the space you're in
C
But still, you're just a kid
Am G
You shouldn't read Dostoefsky at your age
C
That and nicotine will make you pale and lean
Am
And twist your face like Mr. Grays
G
Though it just manifests in paintings that you make
C
Or else your eyes will stay the same
Am G
Are you that hungry for a change?
Chorus: D D C C
e|----------------------------------------|
B|--------3--------3-----------1--------1-|
G|-----2--------2-----------0--------0----|
D|--0--------0--------0-------------------|
A|-----------------------3--------3-------|
E|----------------------------------------|
D D
You're waking up
C C
You're flying out
D D
The door has sprung loose
C C
Don't forget me
Verse 2 (same chords as verse 1)
That's alright, that's okay
We can just run away
And justify our escape with the games that we play
And when we get there
I will say "Hey baby"
Maybe you would laugh a lot
Because that's not something I usually say
But that's no reason
Why I got on the tip of my tongue
And that's still okay
D D
You're waking up
C C
You're flying out
D D
The door has sprung loose
C C
Don't forget me
e|-------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------0----0----0----0----0----0----0-|
D|--2--2--2--4--4--4--4----------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------|
And then it came and rained on down, from the sky
and into my head
e|--------------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------0----0----0----0----0----0----0--|
D|--2--2--2--4--4--4--4-----------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------------|
I tried to think but it was too fast, so I just
said anything...
D D C C
e|----------------------------------------|
B|--------3--------3-----------1--------1-|
G|-----2--------2-----------0--------0----|
D|--0--------0--------0-------------------|
A|-----------------------3--------3-------|
E|----------------------------------------|
that came at last
D D
You're waking up
C C
You're flying out
D D
The door has sprung loose
C C
Don't forget me
D D
You're waking up
C C
You're flying out
D D
The door has sprung loose
C C
Don't forget me

somehow it doesn't sound right to me, it's accurate in one sense but it's not note-for-note. A brave thing to try on your first attempt, and still useful. thanks for writting this down!
i'll have a shot at this one myself later on, i get the feeling this is played a lot further up the neck but i'll have to listen a bit more carefully first.
