During the later Responses where you're just going back and forth between Dsus2 and D a bunch, for interest
you can switch up every other repetition into Dsus2-D-Dsus4-D, though I try to make sure the last one is
always a Dsus2-D again, just sounds best for transitioning into the call imo.
Any time you see G G/F# Em, that's just a walk down the top string with those chord shapes, I tend to just
hit the top two or three strings doing that but either way, only strike each chord once and heavy on the top.

The open D chord just sounds . . . off to me? I've been trying to play along with the recording. It's still not right but I've been trying xx0230 to something like xx022x, something that just keeps that melancholy sound to the line going.
