Heard Josh play this in Vicar St. the other night. Cracking new song.

G 320003
Gadd11 320013

Josh strums the chords but it also sounds nice to pick them.

         C/G F
I've been told there is a power in the blood
       C/G G Gadd11
Is it enough, is it enough?
            C/G F
To carry me back from where I am to where I was
      C/G G C/G
And I hope there is some power in my blood

         C/G F
I've been told that all these ties will surely bind
            C/G G Gadd11
And hold me tight, and hold me tight
           C/G F
'Cause I'm hanging at the end of my own mind
      C/G G C/G
And I hope that all these ties will surely bind

C/G F C/G
When oh when, will I be changed?
        F C/G G
When oh when, will I be changed?
         Am Am/G F
From this devil that I am
        C/G G C/G
When oh when, will I be changed?

             C/G F
And I've been told I'll find the truth down in my bones
            C/G G Gadd11
But I don't know, I don't know
        C/G F
I can't even seem to find my own road home
      C/G G C/G
And I hope there is some truth down in my bones

     C/G F
Oh I hope that in this green and peacefulness
              C/G G Gadd11
You'll let me stay, you'll let me stay
              C/G F
'Cause even a poor serpent needs a place to rest
      C/G G C/G
For a while as he is waiting to be changed.

C/G F C/G
When oh when, will I be changed?
        F C/G G
When oh when, will I be changed?
         Am Am/G F
From this devil that I am
        C/G G C/G
When oh when, will I be changed?
          G C/G
When oh when, will I be changed?

Before playing this song."...those songs that Josh [Kaufman] here and I recorded. I woke up one morning like afraid that I would lose some songs. Very small songs, you know? Not big ones. Just like ones that were like sort of standing in the corner at parties, you know? Deep in the coats. You know, like, in the bedroom where they throw the coats on the bed. Like back there but behind the lamp. Really far away. I felt like a responsibility to myself. Like when the guy at the fair gives you the fish in the bag, you know? And you're terrified that you're going to leave it in the back of the car for four months? Forget about it? Didn't want that to happen. You know? This is a new song." - Josh Ritter

I believe the "G7" is not quite right. He's just putting a finger down on the 1st fret of the B string like 320013. The C/G after the Am is actually just a Am/G (3x2210) used to transition to the F. The C's are all C/G (332010). Also, thanks for the submission. I only recently found the song and soon thereafter, your chords!

I don't know what others see, but the example for me is in F#. Capo on 2 and chords etc around E, A and B (adding all for the 7th is a bit hard). Lots of nice fiddly bits to add as you like with these
