Marillion-Power
Sounds That Can’t Be Made
Bass Tab
This whole song has a strong pattern that keeps repeating itself, only the fills change.
I have shown when you should play which note in which the pattern is then playing.

0:13-0:35
The pattern is the same as shown above, but goes to Gm at 0:33 when H sings “…to feel it though”
Just play single notes, then go back to Cm at 0:37

The pattern above is not played in the chorus, but I will show again which notes are played.
The ‘groove’ on the other hand is still being kept in the chorus,
just listen to the song and you’ll get what I mean.

2:38-3:26 Chorus, follows the same pattern as first chorus
3:27-4:26
This part is played slow and in the background, so it’s difficult to hear in the beginning.
Repeat the figure beneath until the next part starts at 4:27.

D---8--8------3--3---------------------------------------------------|
A-6---------------3-5-6----------------------------------------------|

“But now you can’t function…”
This figure basically is just playing the scale of Cm.
You can hear it in the song when the scale is being progressed, but I will also show it
here like I did before.
It’s possible that some of the fills are wrong and I didn’t tab the right amount of notes to play
within each chord, but listen to the song and you’ll know what I mean.

Again the scale of Cm is being played. The bass stops at 5:26, just hold the 3rd fret on the A string.

So, that was Power from Marillion!
