It sounds almost identical and 100x easier if you play:
Cadd9: 032030
C/G: 335553
And any G that precedes a D or Caad9 I play G6.
For the G that precedes the C/G I play a barre chord G.
Just makes the transitions so much easier and smoother, and like I said, not really noticable difference.
