Riff played with the E / Asus2 chord sequence (optional ad-lib with
this any way you like). I like to play it for the intro and in between the verses.
E Asus2
e|--0--------------0-----------------------------------------------------------|
B|--0--------------0-----------------------------------------------------------|
G|--1--------------2-----------------------------------------------------------|
D|--2------2-------2------2----------------------------------------------------|
A|--2--2/4---4p0---0--2/4----4p0-----------------------------------------------|

Every tab on here has the wrong last chord in the chorus, it should be a Bbdim played like this:

B|--2------|
G|--0------|
D|--2------|
A|--1------|
E|--x------|

Not hearing any diminished chords, I hear chorus as E G D A, basic cycle of fifths. I don't hear any Bb, let alone a diminished one? My understanding is a diminished chord is 2 stacked minor thirds. Would love to get this right as our band recently decided to cover it and want to play at show in few weeks.

The Bbdim works! Thanks for the tip.

I don’t know which video you refer to but there is NOT a diminished chord anywhere in the song. Period. Steve Stills is well known for using different tunings so it doesn’t matter where his fingers are. The chord isn’t in the song.
